Black

Black does have many different tones and the subtle addition of purple, blue or green to black can enrich the tones.  Black is often a misunderstood color and seen as being a negative or bad color and this is far from the truth.  Black is the color of mystery, imagination, protection, rest and security. 

Many feel that Black hides things and from the darkness of Black comes unwanted things.  Because it is often seen as the color of the nighttime sky, the imagination found within darkness can generate or amplify fears, insecurities and doubts.  Yet Black actually serves as a reminder that these things are always present and when exposed to light (or looked at directly), they are not as scary as they might seem.

Being a powerful, strong, defining color, Black holds a mysterious energy that can be alluring, sexy and mysterious.  Black awakens many of the senses and these are often associated with physical pleasures.  When wanting to add a strong statement then use black, either alone or in combination with another color(s).

Probably because Black is a strong color, it is also very protective.  When a person is balanced and in harmony within themselves, they respect and appreciate the strength Black offers rather than fearing the power of Black. 

Summary:  Black offers the power to step into the world of possibilities
